Dedicated to Historic preservation

An interest in regional history and genealogy led back to the cemeteries and graveyards as essential sources of knowledge… knowledge that’s often hard to find anywhere else. But it’s hard to walk into any cemetery with burials older than 100 years or so without being struck by just how fragile those resources are.

Time, weather, pollution, and biological growth all conspire to render stone memorials unreadable… or to destroy them altogether. Once the stone crumbles, the knowledge they carry is lost forever.

Most of us are older before we begin to appreciate the satisfaction of finding a memorial for an ancestor many generations removed. I want those memorials to still be standing when my grandchildren and great-grandchildren are ready to appreciate them.

And let’s face it… much of the work that we do during our professional careers, no matter how “important” those careers are, is transitory.  In contrast, there’s something special about bringing new life to a memorial that was created by an artisan 100 or 200 years ago. Knowing that it will still be bearing testimony a hundred years from now makes the effort worthwhile.

Our Mission

  • To preserve the history recorded in the cemeteries and graveyards of Ohio and West Virginia.
  • To honor loved ones whose memorials are at risk from age, environment, and lack of care.
  • To provide services to living friends and relatives around the world who are unable to travel to the grave sites of their loved ones.
